Brothers and Sisters,
Under the direction of the First Presidency, Utah Area Authorities, and the Geneva Heights Stake Presidency, the Geneva Heights 12th Ward will resume limited public worship services beginning June 14th. During this period of limited services, our Sacrament Meeting will begin at 1pm and will last only 30 minutes. We will meet only in the chapel (no overflow) and will ask everyone to adhere to social distancing of at least 6 feet between family groups. Due to social distancing requirements, not all ward members will be able to attend meetings at the same time, so the following schedule has been developed to invite groups of members (by the first letter of their last name) to attend once every four weeks:

To help ward leaders work through the logistics necessary to ensure a healthy and safe environment for members to attend Sacrament Meetings, the bishopric, young men, and ward council will conduct a “dry-run” of our meeting and sacrament procedures on June 7th. We expect that this will help us work out any kinks before the ward at-large begins attending meetings as of June 14th.
I have attached a document that outlines the policies and health and safety efforts we plan to put in place during our public worship services. Please review this document as it does contain recommendations and requirements for each individual and family to observe when worshipping with us at the meetinghouse.
For additional context about the decision to resume meetings and my personal feelings and thoughts on the topic, please go here for a video I recorded and published to the ward website earlier this afternoon: https://gh12th.home.blog/2020/05/31/a-message-about-resuming-sacrament-meetings/.
Regarding your home worship services and authorization to administer the sacrament in your homes: members already authorized to administer the sacrament in their homes or in the homes of those they minister to may continue to administer the sacrament in the weeks you are not scheduled to attend Sacrament Meeting according to the schedule above. On the weeks you are scheduled to attend Sacrament Meeting, you are not authorized to perform this ordinance in your home unless you request and obtain an exception directly from me. Whether you attend Sacrament Meeting or hold your home worship services on a given week, please continue to make your homes the center of your Gospel learning and worship on the Sabbath Day (and every day, really).
Finally, there is one organizational announcement to bring to your attention. I am sad to announce the recent departure of Ben and Sarah Treadway (among several other members of our ward family). They recently moved to Arizona and so has prompted the reorganization of the Elders Quorum presidency. The Stake President has called and set apart brother Aaron Scott at the Elders Quorum President of the Geneva Heights 12th Ward. His counselors are still being confirmed and will be announced when that process is completed. So, we look forward to your sustaining Brother Scott in deed as he starts into this calling during these unique circumstances. He and his counselors will be presented for a ratifying vote when meetings resume in June.
Thank you for your faithfulness and support of one another during these trying times. I am excited to see you soon and worship with you again–even in unique meeting circumstances.
Faithfully yours,
Bishop Ty Kenworthy
