Expanded In-Person Sacrament Meeting Attendance
With COVID cases in Utah in decline, the Utah Area Authority has authorized expanding attendance in Sacrament Meetings in like manner as we did last fall. So, beginning this Sunday (February 14th), all members are invited to attend Sacrament Meeting each week at 9am. Although capacity in the chapel will be limited to 150 people, we will open overflow seating in the Relief Society room if needed. For more details about how these expanded meetings will be handled, please refer to this previous post on our ward website (https://gh12th.home.blog/2020/09/27/announcing-expanded-sacrament-meeting-plans/). We will continue to broadcast these meetings for those unable to attend in person; nevertheless, if you are healthy and able, you are encouraged to attend in person.
Second hour meetings will continue to be held virtually. Your active attendance and participation in these meetings are part of your covenant commitments to attend as members of the Church. Please plan to attend Sunday School, Relief Society or Priesthood Quorum meetings each week. If you do not know how to join these virtual meetings, please reach out to a member of the applicable presidency for assistance in advance of the meeting.
Ward Conference
The second annual Ward Conference for the Geneva Heights 12th Ward will be held February 21st. This meeting is an opportunity for the ward and stake leadership to share our vision for the ward and stake this coming year, and to give you an opportunity to sustain again your general and local church leaders.
Fast Offerings
The pandemic continues to impact lives throughout the community as people struggle with the illness or are affected financially through the loss or reduction of income. For those blessed with the means to do so, I humbly invite you to prayerfully consider how you might increase your fast offering contributions. 100% of fast offering donations are used to help members of our ward and local community who are in need. Your faithful contributions do make a difference and have blessed and will continue to bless those in emergent need.
Ministering Tip
Do you know where your ministering families’ favorite vacation destination is and why? When was the last time they were able to vacation there? Do they have plans to go again? If you don’t know, consider asking—maybe drop by or video call them and ask them to share pictures with you from their last visit there. You might find that you have a lot in common and who knows what else you might learn about each other along the way!?
Primary Resource Videos
We extend a big thanks to the primary teachers, parents, and primary leaders for their continued support of our children and families. Throughout the pandemic the Primary has produced more than 30 videos as teaching resources for families to use with their in-home Come, Follow Me instruction. This is representative of the marvelous commitment these good members have made to fulfilling their callings during these challenging times. If you’ve been missing out on these videos, Sister Dickson has been faithfully emailing links to the videos and posting them each week to our ward Facebook pages.
